Valor and Noble Character

In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure. Genesis 15:16 NIV.

God measures time morally. This verse states that a nation stands or falls based upon moral leadership. I studied this in seminary. All the kings in leadership revealed something significant. Israel had ten tribes, and Judah had two. Judah lasted longer than Israel. Israel had more troops and strength and should’ve stayed longer. But here was the difference: leadership.

Some leaders in Judah acted righteously in God's eyes. While in Israel, all were wicked kings. Israel went into captivity first.

Josiah was an eight-year-old king. His first action was seeking the Lord, which he did for eight years. Then, at 16, he ordered the temple to be rebuilt. The priests found God’s Word and brought it to Josiah. He read it and tore his robes, then shared it with the people. Revival took place in Judah. Josiah was a leader who shared the Lord with others.

2024 has the most elections ever. Believers pray for a breakthrough. Christians should not care about political parties. They brag about red and blue waves. We should desire a righteous wave—men of courage and women of noble character leading our country.

Any believer should desire this. We should want the candidates God wants. The ones whose hearts and policies are closest to His Word

You see, the hearts of our nation’s leadership, Lord. Place competent individuals in leadership roles in our country. Turn us back to You and change the direction of our country. In Jesus’ name, amen.
