He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. 1 Samuel 8:13-15 NIV.
I got associated with a political party again. I am a Kingdom man. A son of the King. I serve Jesus. Though it is interesting how parties work. The Lord shows us when we pray. The rich became richer, and the poor became poorer.
People in power obliterated places they served. Then lied. I saw politicians deny incidents with every fiber in their being. Then caught in the act with footage. But went on in deception. People forget and re-elect them.
They travel to those ruined areas during elections. Then talk about how great everything is. That their policies work.
Public servants became millionaires on such small salaries. They deny their actions to maintain power.
The people wanted a physical king during Samuel’s time. He explained the Lord is King like I am now in this devotional. We're as blind as our ancestors. It should be called the, He will take chapter. Leaders desire gain.
I implore us today to place your faith and hope in King Jesus. Serve a God that loves and has a place in His Kingdom for us. Jesus took too as a leader. He took part in life and empathizes with our feelings. He took our place and our sins upon Himself. He can take all our worries and fears away. He can take us on an unforgettable adventure. If only we would proclaim Him as Lord. We cannot place our faith in men, only in Jesus Christ.
Help us to not rely on men, Lord. Lead us to surrender to You. Then when any need arises to trust, You will provide for it. In Your mighty name, amen.
