Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26 NIV.
I never thought about this until recently. Peter went out to fish all night. He caught nothing. God's supreme command made it possible. Jesus controlled the fish to stay away from the nets. They got directed away from it.Then, when it was time, Jesus commanded the fish. They all swam into the net. His supreme command led them to do His will. God has dominion over all the animals.
My friend had a rottweiler attack him. The dog moved to bite when he commanded the dog to stop. That in the name of Jesus e had dominion over the animals. The dog halted. Peter was obedient. Then in his obedience, the Lord abundantly provided. Not only did Peter get blessed, but the verses say he blessed others close to him. Jesus the God man. The sea and animals move at His command. Fish went into nets. The storms immediately dissipated. An unclean rooster snuck into Jerusalem at Passover to crow. A wild colt became tame for Him to ride. Remember who is in control. Then surrender to Him as He leads us. Our Supreme Commander.
Thank You that You are in control, Lord. Have Your supreme command over our lives. Praise You we have dominion over creation in Your supreme name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
